FO&T INC. ( Hanyang Precision Ltd. ) was founded in 1984, and incorporated in 1990. We became a member of Korea Telecommunication Associate in 1990. FO&T developed and produced fiber optic components(such as Attenuators, WDMs, Couplers) for the first time in Korea in 1996, with KETI(Korea Electronics Technology Institute). FO&T established the Telecommunication Technology Institute and succeeded in producing High Isolation WDM, Plug Type Variable Attenuator and Electronic Control Type Variable Attenuator. Some of these products were introduced during OFC '2000 in Baltimore, USA.

FO&T has exported fiber optic components since 1998 for the first in Korea. The chief export of FO&T is Optical Fixed Attenuator, which is basically used for damping as much as it needs, localized at first by FO&T in Korea. It made down the rate of dependence on imports and helped to expand high-speed optic telecommunication facilities.

The main market is North America which is the biggest optic telecommunication market in the world. FO&T is also considering various strategies such as marketing cooperation; OEM; joint venture and so on. FO&T also has been exporting to Europe(U. K. ; France; Spain and others) and Asia(Taiwan, Japan and others) as well. Now, FO&T is trying to reach the goal of exporting more than 2.5 million in U. S. Dollar in this year. FO&T is participating OFC(USA), CommunicAisa(Singapore), CLEO/Pacific(Asia), InterOpto(Japan) and ECOC(Europe) every year to expand the market to all over the world.

FO&T was designated as the Potential Telecommunication Company by Ministry of Information& Communication in 1996; as the Venture Company by Small& Medium Business Administration of Korea in 1998 and as the Export-oriented Small and Medium-sized Enterprise by kyunggi Export Assistance Center in 2000. FO&T also acquired ISO9001 certification in February,2000 and TL9000 certification in June,2001.

We changed our company name to FO&T(: Fiber Optic& Telecommunication) to express our will of globalization. FO&T has a policy to develop at least two new products in a year and to introduce them at major optic conferences; such as OFC and ECOC.
